Iranian attack strikes Kuwaiti infrastructure, resulting in one death and major damage as conflicts escalate.
Kuwaiti authorities reported that an Iranian attack targeted a power and water desalination plant, resulting in the death of an Indian worker and significant damage to a building at the site.
The Kuwait Ministry of Electricity stated that the attack occurred as part of Iranian aggression, with technical and emergency teams dispatched immediately to manage the aftermath and maintain operations.
Regional Context of the Conflict
This incident follows more than a month of US and Israeli attacks on Iran, which have killed over 2,000 people, including Iranian leaders and children, according to Iranian authorities.
Iran has responded with drone and missile strikes on Israel and countries hosting US assets, leading to casualties and infrastructure damage across the region.
In Kuwait, the Defense Ministry reported that 14 missiles and 12 drones entered Kuwaiti airspace the previous evening, injuring 10 servicemen who were treated at hospitals.
Iran has also blocked the Strait of Hormuz, disrupting 20 percent of global oil and liquefied natural gas shipments, which has driven up energy prices and affected financial markets.
Last week, US President Donald Trump announced a 10-day pause on threatened attacks against Iranian energy plants until April 6, while Iran warned of retaliatory strikes on Gulf energy sites if provoked.
The ongoing war highlights the vulnerability of critical water infrastructure in the water-scarce Middle East region.
