Iran War: US and Israel Escalate Attacks on Day 23

US and Israeli forces continue attacks on Iran, with Trump issuing ultimatums and Iran reporting casualties and interceptions.

United States President Donald Trump has threatened to obliterate Iranian power plants if Tehran does not reopen the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours, as Israel launched new strikes on Tehran, causing explosions in the eastern part of the city.

Iran's military reported intercepting a US-Israeli armed drone over Tehran and claimed to have shot down an Israeli fighter jet, marking the third such incident in the conflict. Iran also informed the International Atomic Energy Agency of attacks on its Natanz nuclear site, with no unusual radiation detected.

Regional Escalations

In southern Israel, Iranian missile strikes hit towns near a nuclear facility, injuring nearly 100 people in Arad and Dimona. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described the attacks as a 'very difficult evening' and announced measures to strengthen emergency forces.

Saudi Arabia intercepted nearly 60 Iranian drones targeting its Eastern province and three ballistic missiles aimed at Riyadh, with two landing in uninhabited areas. Bahrain's military reported shooting down 143 missiles and 242 drones fired by Iran during the conflict.

Iran's state broadcaster reported over 1,500 deaths and 20,984 injuries from the US-Israeli attacks, with seven hospitals evacuated and 36 ambulances damaged. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian called on the BRICS alliance to help halt the aggressions and proposed a regional security framework.

The US Central Command confirmed dropping 5,000-pound bombs on an Iranian coastal facility used for antiship missiles, undermining threats to the Strait of Hormuz. Israel stated it struck over 200 sites in Iran and Lebanon, targeting missile launchers and military bases, though some Iranian missiles evaded defenses.
