Bezzecchi dominates the Brazilian MotoGP, securing another win and the championship lead.
Marco Bezzecchi of Aprilia won the Brazilian MotoGP on March 23, 2026, at the Autodromo Internacional Ayrton Senna in Goiania, marking his fourth straight victory in the series. The 27-year-old Italian started from second on the grid and took the lead early, maintaining it throughout the race for his second win of the year.
Bezzecchi's performance followed his triumph at the season-opening Thailand Grand Prix earlier in March. He finished ahead of his Aprilia teammate Jorge Martin, who placed second, while VR46's Fabio Di Giannantonio took third by holding off defending champion Marc Marquez in a close finish.
Race Challenges and Adjustments
Bezzecchi credited his team's adjustments for overcoming early difficulties, including struggles during Friday's rain-hit practice sessions. He mentioned pushing himself to the limit to improve his riding and the bike's setup, which allowed him to perform strongly from qualifying onward.
With this win, Bezzecchi overtook KTM's Pedro Acosta in the championship standings, now leading by 11 points after two rounds. He dedicated the victory to his friend Roberto Lunadei, a mechanic who died in a road accident the previous week.
The race was shortened from 31 to 23 laps due to track degradation and high temperatures, with officials announcing the change just before the start. Saturday's sprint race had also faced delays for urgent track repairs after a large hole was found near the starting line.
This event marked MotoGP's return to Brazil for the first time since 2004, held at the Ayrton Senna Circuit. The series now moves to the United States for the Grand Prix in Austin, Texas, scheduled for March 27-29, 2026.
