Match Highlights
In the decisive third set, Sabalenka broke Gauff early and held serve at love in two consecutive games to take a 5-3 lead. She sealed the victory when Gauff sent a backhand wide, marking Sabalenka's fourth break of the match.
This win completes the Sunshine Double for Sabalenka, making her only the fifth woman to win both the Indian Wells and Miami titles in the same year, joining Iga Swiatek, Victoria Azarenka, Kim Clijsters, and Steffi Graf.
During the trophy ceremony, Sabalenka praised Gauff, saying, 'You’re a fighter, and you also push me so hard to be a better player, and I like our rivalry.' Gauff responded, 'Aryna, congratulations. We’ve had many battles, many finals and, yeah, I think you push me to be a better player.'
Sabalenka improved her head-to-head record against Gauff to 7-6 and extended her 2026 record to 23-1, with her only loss coming in the Australian Open final. She is the first player to win back-to-back Miami titles since Ash Barty in 2019 and 2021.
