Vinicius Junior scored twice as Real Madrid came from behind to defeat Atletico Madrid 3-2 in a high-intensity Madrid derby on Sunday. Atletico took the lead in the 33rd minute when Ademola Lookman finished a counterattack assisted by Matteo Ruggeri and Giuliano Simeone.
Vinicius equalized from a penalty in the 52nd minute after David Hancko fouled Brahim Diaz. Three minutes later, Federico Valverde scored for Real Madrid, capitalizing on an error by Jose Maria Gimenez to make it 2-1.
Nahuel Molina leveled the score for Atletico with a long-range strike in the 66th minute, but Vinicius regained the lead for Real Madrid six minutes later with a solo effort. Valverde was sent off late in the game for a challenge on Alex Baena, yet Real held on for the win.

Real Madrid coach Alvaro Arbeloa praised his team's resilience, saying, 'We had to show a very strong mentality. They equalised again, fiercely, and we had to press again.'
